Jadid at the Sedbergh Music festival this summer

Here are some highlights from the Jadid Ensemble’s last gig.
String arranging Bonanza

I just had two great gigs in Preston and Bradford with Razwan Sarvar’s Bollywood masterpiece.…a twenty piece orchestra with dancers, for which I had to write 23 string arrangements. I am now about to start working on some string arranging for Paul Heaton, for the production of ‘The 8th’ at the Barbican and Lowry Centre. Can’t wait.

A great month recording Unfurl’s new album

Had an amazing time with my band Unfurl in April. We got 8 tracks down for our new album. We recorded in Sheffield University by producer Andy bell, It was a really creative and inspirational time in the studio and we are delighted to be launching the new CD at this years Manchester Jazz Festival. That seems a long way off now with so many gigs coming up. PLease come down to St Margaret’s Church, Rufford Road, Whalley Range on 27th May to hear a great band, ‘the Building Bridges Quartet’.

Hello. I have not updated my blog for a while. Want to share with you a video of Unfurl playing at the Seven Arts Centre, Leeds in November. This tune is called Part Time Insomniac and it’s by our lead guitarist Jim Faulkner.

My first blog entry!!!!!!!!!!

Hello. This is most exciting. This is my first blog entry. Want to talk to you guys and tell you all I am getting up to. Had a great couple of gigs last week with guitarist Guiliano Modarelli.…..you got to check this guy out. He rips it! and the most inspiring pianist Al Macsween. We played at Matt and Phreds last wednesday and Nomad Cafe on friday at the Anthony Burgess Foundation. A really great little venue newly opened in town. Please keep you eye on this blog and I will upload some video from the gig.
